A day hike, Machame route, Kilimanjaro.

Day hike through Machame route on Mt Kilimanjaro is one the amazing thing to do as a day activity. Drive from your hotel to Machame gate 1,800m, start hike through tropical rain forest for 5hrs with lunch box to Machame camp 3,000m, if the weather is good you can see Kibo Peak and Shira Peak from Machame camp. Then descend back to Machame gate and drive back to your hotel.

This is now very popular route on Mt Kilimanjaro, it starts from the Western side , at elevation of 2,200m passing through the forest with different species of flowers and rare Black and White Colobus monkey, Sykes monkey (blue monkey) short hike of 3hrs to forest camp 2,650m. Dinner and overnight. Day 2: Hike to Shira 2 camp 3,840m, 7hrs hike, hot lunch at Shira 1 camp. Dinner and overnight at Shira 2. Day 3: Hike to Barranco camp 3,950, via at Lava tower 4,600m for acclimatization and hot lunch, dinner and overnight at Barranco. Day 4: Hike through Barranco wall to Karanga camp 4,000m, 4hrs, hot lunch, dinner and overnight. Day 5: Hike to Barafu camp 4,600m, 3hrs hike, lunch, dinner and overnight. Day 6: Wake up at midnight and get ready for the summit, lite breakfast and start your trekking to Uhuru Peak 5,895m, 6-7hrs, take pictures and descend to Barafu camp for short rest and lunch, and later descend to Mweka camp 3,100m for dinner and overnight. Day 7: Descend to Mweka gate 1,650m, 3hrs , sign out and drive to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.
